Having heard much buzz about twitter, I’ve finally decided to give it a try.  I’ve always asked “Why do we even need a twitter if facebook could do more than that?”  Now I see some benefits of twitter thanks to a friend’s blog where he integrated twitter into the blog for short updates.  Cool idea!

Next came the challenge - Twitter is only useful for that purpose if I could twit on the go anytime and anywhere.  If it requires me to get onto a PC and get online, I could easily write on the blog instead (without needing to limit myself to 140 characters).  Some may suggest that I could easily use a 3G phone nowadays but I really do not intend to continue the monthly subscription of unlimited Internet since it’s gonna cost me RM58/month even when my phone is spoilt or the area I’m in has limited coverage.  Use pay as you go Internet?  That’s way too expensive just to twit!  So how do I do that?

Here’s what you could do if you’re a Digi user like me.

1 - Go to http://gladlycast.com/ and get yourself registered.  This part is self explanatory once you’re in there.

2 - Save the number +60(12)7959876 onto your phone.  This is your SMS twitting number.

3 - Now it’s gonna cost you RM0.10 / RM0.13 / RM0.15 depending on what plan you use.  But here’s the trick … DiGi Friends & Family!

4 - Got that setup?  Now each twit via sms will only cost RM0.01!  Twitter is my best friend!
